The Sense75 is the CTRL's lesson learned. It is gasket-mounted with a foam stack in an aluminium case, and it sounds like a completely different company built it — deep, full, and quiet in the upper frequencies where the CTRL rings.
With linear switches it produces the low, rounded clack that gasket-mounted aluminium boards are bought for. With tactiles it keeps that foundation and adds a defined bump, and because the case absorbs so much, the bump reads as texture rather than as a sharp tick the way it does on the harder-sounding CTRL.
If you have used a Drop board before and formed an opinion about how Drop keyboards sound, this one will not match it.

The move from the CTRL's tray mount to a gasket mount is the whole story of the design: the plate now sits on compliant strips rather than bolted to the case, which is what removes the ring.

What is the difference between the Drop Sense75 and the CTRL?
The mount. The CTRL is tray-mounted with the PCB bolted to an aluminium case, which is bright and rings. The Sense75 is gasket-mounted with a foam stack, so the plate flexes and the case absorbs rather than reflects. They sound like keyboards from different categories despite sharing a brand and a material.
Is the Drop Sense75 worth it over a Keychron Q1?
They are direct competitors — both gasket-mounted aluminium 75% boards with knobs and foam, and both sound excellent. The Q1 is usually cheaper and has the larger community and better documented mod path. The Sense75 has the nicer stock stabilisers and a more refined out-of-box tune. Neither choice is wrong on sound.
Does the Sense75 come with Halo switches?
It is offered with a range of switches rather than being tied to the Halo tactiles the CTRL is known for, and it is hot-swappable, so the choice is not permanent.
