How it
どう鳴るのか。
The GMMK Pro is a heavy aluminium case with a gasket mount and a rotary knob, and it does what that construction always does — it lowers the sound and takes the ring out. Straight out of the box it is fuller and deeper than any tray-mounted board, though it ships with less internal foam than a Keychron Q1, which leaves it slightly brighter and more open.
That openness is arguably the point. The GMMK Pro is sold as a platform: most owners buy it barebones and choose their own switches, keycaps, and foam, and the relatively neutral stock tuning gives those choices room to matter. A GMMK Pro with lubed linears and a foam mod is a genuinely excellent-sounding board.
The one consistent criticism is the stabilisers, which rattle more than the rest of the build deserves and are the first thing most owners fix.

Does the GMMK Pro need foam to sound good?
It sounds good without it and better with it. The gasket mount and aluminium case already remove most of the hollowness, but Glorious ships less internal damping than comparable boards, so a foam mod is the most common and most effective addition. Fixing the stabilisers usually matters more than the foam does.
GMMK Pro or Keychron Q1?
Both are gasket-mounted aluminium 75% boards with knobs, and they are genuinely close. The Q1 ships with more foam and sounds deeper and more finished out of the box. The GMMK Pro is the better platform if you intend to tune it yourself, and it is more commonly sold barebones. The Q1's stabilisers are better stock.
Why do my GMMK Pro stabilisers rattle?
They ship under-lubricated, and it is the board's best-known flaw. Space, Enter, Shift, and Backspace all buzz more than the rest of the build warrants. Pulling them out and applying a thick grease to the wire and the housing is an hour's work and removes the problem completely — it is the single highest-value modification for this board.
