What a Logitech G915
sounds like.

Each button plays a short phrase typed on that switch family, so you are comparing rhythm rather than a single tap. Play two in a row — that is where the difference actually shows up.

These are recordings of the switch family, not of this exact keyboard. That is the honest way to do it — the family is what dominates the sound, and switch options move between model years and regions. Check the listing before buying on the strength of a match here.

지금 듣고 있는 것

How it
실제로 내는 소리.

The G915's GL switches travel roughly 2.7 mm against a full-height switch's 4 mm, and the whole board is only a couple of centimetres thick. Both facts push the sound in the same direction: quicker, higher, and thinner than anything full-height.

The GL Clicky is sharp and precise and noticeably less resonant than a Cherry MX Blue, because there is simply less switch to ring. The GL Tactile gives a small, quick bump. The GL Linear is the smoothest and the one most G915 owners end up on, landing as a light, fast tap.

The aluminium top plate keeps everything tight and stops it sounding cheap, but there is essentially no internal volume, so there is no low end available at all. This is a bright keyboard by construction, not by choice of switch.

왜 그런 소리가 나는가

The build
작동 원리.

Logitech GL low-profile switches with around 2.7 mm of travel, on a brushed aluminium top plate in a very thin case. Soldered rather than hot-swappable. The extreme thinness is the defining constraint: there is almost no cavity behind the PCB, which removes any possibility of low-frequency body but also removes the hollow ring that thin plastic boards suffer from.

Which one to pick

Choosing
the switch.

All three GL options are compressed versions of their full-height equivalents — the family character survives, the depth does not. If you are coming from a full-height board, expect everything to sound a semitone or two higher and to happen faster than you are used to.

좋은 질문들

Logitech G915
관련 질문.

Do low-profile keyboards sound worse?

Different rather than worse, though if you specifically want depth then yes. Short travel and a thin case mean there is no room for low frequencies to develop, so low-profile boards are always brighter and quicker than full-height ones. What they gain is precision and speed, and a good aluminium-plated low-profile board sounds tight rather than cheap.

Is the Logitech G915 quiet?

The Linear and Tactile versions are reasonably quiet — short travel means less energy in each press. The Clicky version is not, though it is less resonant than a full-height clicky switch. For a shared room the Linear is the version to pick.

Can I change the switches in a G915?

No, they are soldered, and low-profile GL switches have a limited aftermarket even if you were willing to desolder. This is worth weighing at purchase, because the three options sound genuinely different and there is no way to revisit the decision later.
