Each button plays a short phrase typed on that switch family, so you are comparing rhythm rather than a single tap. Play two in a row — that is where the difference actually shows up.

These are recordings of the switch family, not of this exact keyboard. That is the honest way to do it — the family is what dominates the sound, and switch options move between model years and regions. Check the listing before buying on the strength of a match here.

你听到的是什么

How it
实际听起来是什么样。

The Huntsman Mini is a small aluminium-topped case with very little inside it, which makes it brighter and more resonant than the larger, foam-filled Huntsman V3 Pro. On a 60% board that resonance stays tight rather than boomy, but it is clearly there.

The purple clicky optical is the more distinctive option and a genuinely unusual switch: the click comes from a physical mechanism as it would on any clicky switch, but the actuation is optical, so the click and the registration are completely independent. It sounds sharp and slightly higher than a Cherry MX Blue.

The red linear optical is the quieter option and lets the case through more. Neither is a subtle keyboard, and the lack of internal damping is the main thing separating this from Razer's newer boards.

它为什么是这个声音

The build
藏在噪音背后。

Razer optical switches in a compact 60% aluminium-topped case with minimal internal damping, and doubleshot PBT keycaps. The clicky purple version is a rarity — most optical switches are linear, because removing the physical contact is usually the point — and it pairs a conventional click mechanism with optical actuation.

Which one to pick

Choosing
the switch.

A clicky optical switch is an odd hybrid worth understanding: the click is mechanical and the actuation is optical, so unlike a Cherry MX Blue the noise and the keypress registering are not tied together. In practice it sounds sharper and a little higher than a Blue.

值得一问的问题

Razer Huntsman Mini
常见问题。

Is the Razer Huntsman Mini loud?

The purple clicky version is, yes — it is a clicky switch in a small case with almost no internal damping. The red linear version is much more reasonable. Compared with Razer's newer boards, the Mini's lack of foam is the main reason it sounds brighter and more hollow than the current lineup.

What is a clicky optical switch?

A switch with a conventional click mechanism for feel and sound, but optical actuation for registering the press. The two are independent, which is unusual — on a Cherry MX Blue the click and the actuation happen together by design. In practice it means a slightly sharper, higher click than a Blue, and no possibility of the click and the keypress drifting apart as the switch wears.

Can I make a Huntsman Mini sound less hollow?

Partly. Foam or the tape mod inside the case removes most of the ring, and it is a small enough board that a little material goes a long way. What you cannot do is change the switches — the PCB is optical, so it only takes Razer's own switches, which removes the usual biggest lever.
