The Anne Pro 2 is a small plastic case with a tray-mounted PCB and nothing inside it, which puts it firmly in the bright-and-hollow camp. What works in its favour is size: a 60% shell has much less internal volume than a full-size board, so there is less space for the resonance to develop and it comes out tighter than a large hollow board would.
With Gateron Blue or Kailh Box White it is a genuinely loud keyboard — Box switches in particular are sharper and more precise than a standard Blue, with less wobble and a cleaner click. The Brown is a light tactile knock and the Red is the smoothest option, though it also leaves the case most exposed.
It sounds like what it is: a competent budget 60% from the era before everyone started putting foam in things. That it is still in the conversation says more about the layout and the software than the acoustics.

Is the Anne Pro 2 still worth buying?
It is an older design and it shows in the acoustics — no foam, tray mount, thin keycaps. What has kept it recommended is the combination of a good 60% layout, solid wireless, and genuinely useful software at a price that has kept falling. If you want a compact board and do not care much how it sounds, it still holds up; if sound is the priority, newer gasket-mounted boards beat it easily.
What is the difference between Kailh Box and Gateron switches?
Box switches enclose the stem in a square housing that reduces side-to-side wobble and keeps dust and liquid out. For sound, the important part is the click mechanism: Box clicky switches use a click bar rather than Cherry's loose collar, which produces a sharper and more consistent click with less rattle. Gateron switches are smoother in the linear versions and closer to Cherry overall.
Can I make an Anne Pro 2 sound less hollow?
Yes. It is a small case with an empty cavity, so a layer of foam or the tape mod under the PCB makes an immediate difference. Thicker PBT keycaps lower the pitch further. Neither is expensive, and on a board with no factory damping at all they are unusually effective.
